Unit Three Circles

In this unit students will discover and apply the relationship between arcs, angles and segments within a circle. The unit will focus on identifying the relationship shown in the figure and applying the correct formula to solve for the missing piece. The unit will contain one quiz, a summative assessment and a class project.

Unit Two Similar and Congruent Triangles

Our second unit in the geometry support class will focus on identifying and solving similar and congruent triangles. We will review solving proportions and then learn how to use proportions to identify similar triangles. We will begin working with word problem when we solve similar triangles. The second portion of the unit will focus on identifying and solving congruent triangles. We will also work on using logic to write geometric proofs.  August 30 - Quiz and Review August 31 - Summative Assessment Sept 7 - Quiz and Review Sept 8 Summative Assessment We will finish the unit by focusing on the identifying properties of quadrilaterals. Students will complete a summative project at the end of the unit.  All resources for this unit can be found in CTLS in Unit Two Similar and Congruent Triangles Lesson Resources.

Unit One Summative Project

We will complete a summative project for Unit One. The students will have four days to work on the project in class. The instructions for the project will be uploaded into CTLS in the lesson resources. There are three parts to the project: The Rabbit Project, The Rabbit Turns and The Rabbit Moves. The project will be due Thursday, August 19 and we will take the summative assessment on Friday, August 20.

Unit One Transformations

Welcome to Geometry Support. This class will review skills needed to be successful in Geometry as well as preview the main concepts students will see in their second semester Geometry course. The first unit will investigate transformations in the Coordinate Plane. We will study translations, reflections, rotations, dilations, and transformation combination. The class will focus on learning the rules of transformations and applying them to a given figure. We will have several small rules quizzes throughout the unit, one summative project and one summative assessment. Resources for the unit can be located in CTLS. Look in the Unit One Transformation Digital Session and go to lesson resources.
